As I posted on Saturday, I shaved my head today in solidarity for my friend with cancer. I managed to walk right up into the salon and tell them I needed to shave my head. I don’t think the stylist really understood until I told her several times, “I want it ALL shaved off. You know, bald.” Fortunately she didn’t argue with me, which is why I didn’t go to my regular stylist, who I *know* would not have done it.
So, here are the pictures:
Here’s my hair before. It had been rinsed, it’s not usually that dark or straight.
This is where my stylist was cutting it off. She said it was SO thick, it was hard to get through! I thought that was kinda funny- I’ve been shedding a LOT lately and it felt significantly thinner to me.
There it is all cut off. See? Thick!
All done! I actually think it’s quite cute!
You can see more photos of the process at my Flickr page, including a really cute one of me in my glasses and hat.
To TheNewGirl, my thoughts and prayers are with you.
Edit: Thanks to Kathy T for coming with me, bolstering my confidence and taking pictures!!

Can I come over and rub your head?

I’m with you, Jag. We should go over to her house, rub her head, and make a wish.
Ivy, I haven’t picked up any knitting needles in a while, but I’m going to see if I can’t whip a little something up for your noggin. I get chilly just looking at it.

There is nothing of more value (to me) than a good friend.
Your friend is going to be fine a friend like you.
