A chick in the Nashvillians community wants apartment recommendations. I’ll c&p the text here, in case it gets deleted.
Apartments
Hi - I’m looking at moving to the Southest side of Nashville and am wondering if anyone here has any comments/suggestions on the following apartment complexes:Hickory Trace
Signature Pointe
Nob Hill
The VillagesIt would be me and my daughter - looking for a safe place, mainly caucasion population if possible. If none of these are good, can you recommend a good complex? Thanks so much in advance!
Of course, everyone’s over there having a heart attack at the “mainly caucasion” part. Personally? I used to live in the ghetto. It wasn’t the non-caucasiAn population that was the problem. It was the white kids. All the African American kids and Mexican kids ran around and played, and were kinda loud, but were generally good kids, didn’t cause any problems, or anything.
On the other hand, the white people across the street were heinous. The “mother” was (literally) a hooker- she’d put her kids outside (including a little 2 year old kid, in all weather) while man after man after man after man came by, for about 15-20 minutes. Her kids were the worst kids I have ever encountered in my life. They threw rocks at my windows and doors all the time, stole everything I ever sat on my porch for more than 10 minutes (some things, I could understand- like the sidewalk chalk or my son’s locked up bicycle, but others…why in the HELL would a kid have a need to steal a dirty mop head is BEYOND me), stuck a slab of ham to my door, and stole a check that had been fed-exed to me and had been sitting at my front door for less than 15 minutes.
So, yeah, I don’t get this automatic asumption that white = good. In my experience, that’s just not true.

Oh good grief. Who even knows with apartment complexes? Why does it even matter? All the ones she’s listed are fairly large. I lived in a smaller complex (60 units) for the first 8 years I was married. I couldn’t tell you the color of everyone that lived there. I had no idea. I DO know that the guy below us for awhile was a rude bastard who had a dog illegally and keyed our landlord’s car. He was white.
The lady who was my good friend and always kind to me was black.
In neither case did I attribute their behaviour to their skin colour.

What she should actually be looking into is crime statistics. I saw a link on NIT, if she really wants her family to be safe. Oh, yeah. I grew up the minority but on my street, we were the majority. The guy across the street from me beat his wife with a tool in the street. The folks up the street from me were heroine junkies. My step grandfather was a child molester. The guy next to me beat his daughter and his son tried to rape her.
