I guess since my blog is getting so much attention (thanks again NiT and Fark!), I might start updating regularly, lest I get a regular readership or something.
So here’s what’s on my mind today. An interesting post on the Nashvillians community on livejournal has this chick who is FREAKING THE HELL OUT about a registered [...]
That’s right, kids, heathen and butthead are words that are firing offenses, if you are a subsitute teacher for them. Holland Employment (that’s the employment agency that hires and fires subs for Rutherford County schools) has fired William Lloyd, a man who has been a subsitute teacher for them for more than a decade.
Mr. Lloyd [...]
Ugh, this is just criminal. I never shopped at Family Dollar to begin with, but now I damn sure won’t shop there. The asshats at Family Dollar fire this woman from her $7 an hour job because she needed to go rescue her hurricane vicim family members.
So what I want to know is, are employees [...]
And for once, I’m not sick over some big political thing, or sick because I’m not sure how I’m gonna pay my bills this month, etc. Nope, I’m actually SICK! It may be allergies, but Nate came up with a runny nose before I did, so it may be something catching.

I spent most of last night glued to Interdictor. It’s a blog where these guys are in New Orleans, and updates from where it’s really happening and all. Watching their webcam is interesting. They have one post that just made me cry and cry when I read it, it is about the people stuck in [...]

On Morgan [...]
There are a lot of things happening now that is leading me to believe there is going to be another great depression like there was in the 30’s. That makes me think about my grandma, who lived through the depression as a child, and how that has affected how she does things to this very [...]
that make the rest of us cool liberals look bad. Pith in the wind links us to this asshat who seems to think that those of us that live in red states, don’t deserve help.
Maybe it’s metaphorical, maybe it’s just purposely trying to be inflammatory. There’s one in every bunch, for sure.
But I do wish [...]
Since Nashville is being so cool and reaching out to help the Katrina refugees, can we have Mardi Gras until they get back up and running? Pleeeeease?
I’m (mostly) going to quit bitching about high gas prices, but I read an interesting article about the whole thing. The last line is about how we need to converve.
I totally agree with that, but am wondering how in the heck I can cut back on driving any more than I already have. I guess [...]
